Bio

Emma is a recent graduate of the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Law, and Society. During her three-year tenure at university, she gained her certification as a mediator in the state of California and worked as a volunteer mediator with the nonprofit Waymakers Dispute Resolution Services to resolve cases in the Orange County Superior Court of California. She worked on both small claims and civil harassment cases. However, her interest in criminal law grew as she continued her studies. In addition, she conducted legal research on the effects of prosecutorial misconduct on wrongful convictions, participated in a mock trial, and drafted mock Supreme Court opinions. She founded a Classics honors society and served as the Secretary of the chapter during her last year on campus. In high school, she competed in speech and debate and held the Secretary position in her school’s Speech and Debate club. Her Oratory speech qualified her for the Washington State Speech and Debate Tournament of 2020. She graduated high school in the top ten percent of her class.

Emma is currently a criminal defense paralegal and a first-year law student at the University of Washington School of Law, preparing to further her long-time aspirations of becoming a lawyer.
